The perfect winter dish!

Today I want to introduce to you one of my favorite Japanese dishes... sukiyaki! Sukiyaki is Japanese beef hotpot and it's super easy to make!

To make the broth, you need:
1. Mirin (Japanese rice wine) 50 ml
2. Soy sauce 50 ml
3. Sake 100 ml
4. A little bit of sugar (add to taste)

Bring the above to a boil and you have your sukiyaki sauce! Now you need to cut your vegetables and beef. Japanese grocery stores have sukiyaki ready beef, so they were already thinly sliced for me! You can use almost any vegetables you like, such as white cabbage, carrots, mushrooms and you can add tofu too!

Place your ingredients nicely in a pan and pour sukiyaki sauce over everything. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer until everything is nicely cooked. You don't want your beef to be too tough, so if you have vegetables like carrots then it's better to add the beef last.

Tada! You have made sukiyaki! It's super delicious and so fool-proof. You can add some udon to your sukiyaki if you like. (I prefer to eat mine with rice.) Sukiyaki is perfect for those cold winter days and super healthy as well. (No carbohydrates! I feel like 80% of my diet here in Japan consists of carbs... uh oh.)

Let me know if you try it yourself! :)
